Juke Audio 8-Zone Multi-Room Amplifier

Juke Audio's multi-zone streaming amplifier is a revolutionary all-in-one product used for powering and wirelessly controlling pre-wired speakers across an entire home or building. At the size of a textbook, the unit can drive up to 16 speakers across 8 zones, supports up to 4 inputs simultaneously, and contains modern streaming technology for easy listening from phones/tablets across any combination of rooms over Wi-Fi. Juke is a break-through in simplicity, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.

Juke is quick and easy to install. Place it on a shelf, or mount it in a 19” equipment rack with optional rack ears. Juke is very energy-efficient and produces much less heat than traditional amplifiers. However, you must ensure that nothing is sitting on top of it and that other equipment isn’t causing it to be located in a hot environment. Once Juke is in position, it’s time to connect your speaker wires and get Juke onto your local network

Juke has 4 embedded inputs which make for simple streaming from multiple devices across any combination of rooms easy. Using the Juke software interface, you can turn on/off any number of zones for any input of your choice and begin streaming over Wi-Fi from your phone/tablet or Analog sources as well.

FUNCTIONAL SPECIFICATIONS

  • Powerful, efficient Class-D Amplifier
  • Number of zones: 6 for the Juke-6 (12 channels), and 8 for the Juke-8 (16 channels)
  • For applications requiring more than 8 zones, multiple Jukes work together automatically (e.g. a Juke-6 and a Juke-8 will appear on the network as if they were a single device with 4 sources and 14 zones)
  • Number of devices that can play simultaneously: 4
  • Number of users: unlimited
  • Wireless input types: Airplay (e.g. from iPhones, iPods, iPads and Macs) and Spotify Connect, implemented using robust open-source libraries
  • Easy-to-use Web interface that behaves just like an app but without the need to install anything
  • Stream audio to any combination of zones simultaneously
  • Analog inputs: up to two line-level analog stereo sources using optional USB interfaces (sold separately)
  • Can be connected to surround-sound amplifiers, also using an optional USB interface (sold separately)

INSTALLATION OVERVIEW

  • Once ceiling, wall or other speakers are installed in your home or building, simply connect the wires to Juke’s terminals and connect Juke to your network
  • Installation typically takes 30 minutes or less and requires no special knowledge or training
  • Administrator login allows naming of your zones (e.g. kitchen, living room, master bedroom, etc.), setting relative zone volumes, etc.
  • If you have a room with a surround-sound system, Juke can work with it: follow our instructions so that both systems can play the same audio

USER INTERFACE

  • Play audio directly from any app (e.g. Apple Music, Spotify, SoundCloud, Amazon Music, Pandora, Podcasts, YouTube, Spectrum TV, DirecTV, web pages, etc.)
  • Stream to Juke via Wi-Fi
  • Click the locations you want
  • Control the volume with the volume controls on your device just like you always do

LIMITATIONS

  • We designed Juke to do one thing really well and really inexpensively: provide great audio throughout a home or building primarily from Apple or Spotify-Connect devices that stream wirelessly
  • Except for Spotify, support for Android and other operating systems currently requires third-party software applications (e.g. DoubleTwist Pro, AirMusic) or third-party hardware piece (audiocast) that allow these devices to stream  from popular platforms like iHeartRadio, Pandora,  Amazon Music, etc.
  • Juke has no analog inputs, although it does support inexpensive third-party USB interfaces that provide them
  • It is not a surround-sound amplifier, although it can be configured to work with them to provide simultaneous audio in theater rooms and any combination of other rooms
  • Juke doesn’t control home automation or lighting control systems, but does have a protocol available to developers so it can be controlled by third-party home automation systems
  • Bottom line: our philosophy is “Sound Made Simple.” Ease of use is more important than bells and whistles. We think you’ll love it!
